Services Available

  • In-library materials available for use: Reference materials, computers, newspapers, magazines

  • Materials available for check-out (library card required): Books, cd's, dvd's, magazines, audio books

  • WiFi & Internet services available

Library Cards

A library card is needed to check out materials. Library card applications are available at the check-out desk at the library. You must show an ID and proof of address for the application. Once the application is completed, there is a two-day waiting period before materials can be checked out.
Residents of the city may obtain a library card free of charge. Anyone living outside the city limits of Sisseton may purchase a one-year card for $10.00 a person or $15.00 per family (parent, spouse, and children).

Programs

  • Reading Capers - open to children in Kindergarten through 4th Grade on the third Monday of the month. Starts after school and finishes at 5:00 p.m. Children must pre-register.

  • Summer Reading Program - open to children 3 years old to 8th grade. Runs the Tuesday after Memorial Day through the middle of July.

  • One Book South Dakota - a program sponsored with the South Dakota Humanities Council. A book group reads and discusses the chosen book
