Car ShowEvents
On the first weekend in June each year, Veterans Avenue in Sisseton's business district is the site of the Sisseton Car & Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet. The Saturday event is sponsored by the Lake Area Cruisers. Winners are announced during the awards ceremony at 2:00 p.m., followed by parade of participants. On the Friday night before the show, the Dakota Connection hosts a “Cruise-In” which features hot cars and loud contests.

The second weekend in June is the Hills & Valley Riding Club Annual Trail Ride. The enjoyable 3-day weekend of camping, horseback riding and wagon train through the beautiful Coteau Hills draws more than 400 riders each year. A dance for attendees and guests takes place on Saturday evening. All ages are welcome.

During November, Sisseton begins gearing up for the holiday season with the Sisseton Area Merchants Holiday Open House and the Lighted Parade/Chili Cook-Off. Check the Calendar of Events at the left of this page for the specific dates of this year’s events.

City Parks
The city maintains two parks. Drentel Park and Anderson Park. Drentel Park is located off Highway #10 in the center of town and has picnic shelters, playground equipment, and open spaces for large groups. Anderson Park is located between Main and First avenues and Maple and Ash Street. in the center of downtown and has a picnic shelter, playground equipment, and a basketball court. Located near Anderson Park are a tennis court and a basketball complex. The baseball complex is located on east Highway #10.

Athletic Complex
Just south of Sisseton High School, on 8th Avenue West, is the recently-completed Sisseton Athletic Complex. The $2 million complex includes a football/soccer field with artificial turf, an eight-lane track, field event areas, a grandstand and press box, Daktronics scoreboard, concessions and restroom building, and ticket booths. The complex is the site of many exciting sporting events for the entire region.
